Italian Canadian Foundation of Manitoba Inc.


The Foundation is a member organization of the Italian Canadian League of Manitoba.


Mission and Programs


The Italian Canadian Foundation of Manitoba Inc. is a registered charitable organization established to honour the memory of loved ones by creating opportunities for the undertaking of cultural, educational and beneficial activities. 

 Within its broader mandate, the Foundation strives to improve the quality of community life, keep alive the memory of our forefathers, and instill a sense of pride in future generations. 

 Important projects and activities include: construction and maintenance of the Commemorative Wall at the rear Garibaldi Lodge Piazza, scholarships, bursaries and awards to foster students’ interest in Italian culture; support the Viva L'Italia Choir; sponsor fundraising events such as Evening of Light Opera, Cabaret Nights, Echo of Spring and Italian-Ukrainian Fusion events.
ICFM Scholarship Program

  The Italian Canadian Foundation of Manitoba Inc. (ICFM) scholarship(s) annually offers a grant to Manitoba student(s) who are registered in post secondary education. The student(s) must be of Italian heritage or background. The amount of each scholarship will  be $500 with a maximum of two scholarships granted per year. Consideration will be  given to all applicants who have not previously received this scholarship.


Criteria for Scholarship

The recipient of the scholarship must be a student registered in post secondary education  in the province of Manitoba. Proof of registration required. 

 

  • The applicant must complete the ICFM application form.
  • The applicant must provide one letter of recommendation.
  • Evidence of academic achievement, extra curricular activities, leadership, volunteerism,
  • and good citizenship will be considered. Involvement in the Italian community and personal identification with Italian Canadian heritage is an asset.

 

The completed application form, copy of the most recent report card or school/university transcript and the letter of reference must be received by March 1, 2024


Application and relevant documentation can be forwarded by Canada Post or hand  delivered to the office of the:

ICFM - 1055 Wilkes Avenue, Winnipeg, Mb. R3P 2L7.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.


Selection Process and Scholarship Requirements

The selection committee will consist of a minimum of three members of the ICFM board.  The selection committee will not be parents of nor related to any of the applicants.  The selection committee will review the applications and make a recommendation to the ICFM board as to the recipients for the awards, which will be granted in 2024 .


The scholarship will be valid for the following academic year and may only be used for  tuition or graduate studies funded through a post secondary institution.
